Square Enix has announced on its official e-store shop site that Final Fantasy Eau de toilette ~Noctis~ perfume will be out on 15th June. The most interesting part of this reveal is that the perfume is called “FINAL FANTASY.” Does this mean a reboot for Final Fantasy -series or are they just saving the name surprise for E3 2013?
In the latest episode of Square Enix Merchandise Radio, they had a special guest, the game director of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Tetsuya Nomura. The radio staff eagerly asked about his latest project (FFvXIII) and he stated, “It’s (Versus) a delicate situation within the company.” He also added: “The date for our next reveal is set and we are working toward preparing information for that. Perhaps the details as to why information couldn’t be released might be touched upon with the next information announcement.”
@hidemi_mad_dog, The General Manager of Square Enix figure brand, posted a picture called “PRINCE!” on Twitter showing a new upcoming fragrance called “Noctis” which will likely be the official perfume of FINAL FANTASY VERSUS XIII. Noctis isn’t the only one who has gotten a perfume before – several perfumes have been named after Lightning, Sephiroth and Cloud.
Is the release of Final Fantasy Versus XIII nearer than we expect? Who will Noctis smell?
Square Enix CEO Wants to Show Final Fantasy Versus XIII When It Gives Players ‘This is Final Fantasy!’ feeling!
Today at FF25th Anniversary celebration opening in Shibuya, Yoichi Wada, the CEO of Square Enix, said: “When it (Final Fantasy Versus XIII) reaches the level where it gives you that nostalgic, “this is Final Fantasy!” feeling, I want to show it to everyone.”
What is this Final Fantasy feeling for you? Have the newest Final Fantasy games provided it to you? How or how not?
Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Event has started today in Japan. In the opening ceremony Yoichi Wada stated that Versus is still in development and isn’t done yet. In Nomura’s new sketch artwork you can see Noctis and Japanese text which pretty much says: “Congratulations on the 25th anniversary. Please wait for his turn to appear.”
Today at Ginza Swing!! the executive producer of Final Fantasy series, Shinji Hashimoto said that the project has evolved considerably, and that it is important to bring it out. It is “turning out to be unbelievably amazing!”
This makes us wonder if they have something unbelievable amazing to show at Tokyo Game Show or FF25th Event?
Last week you may have read Kotaku’s rumors about Final Fantasy Versus XIII being cancelled. This news were also posted by many gaming sites, but the cancelation of the game seemed very unlikely to us, especially when they released Somnus for Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy as DLC in North American few weeks ago.
“It seems someone is spreading a false rumor about Versus being canceled. Heh, just a few moments ago a regularly meeting for Versus ended. If you were to see the city etc. presented today, you wouldn’t be able to stand from surprise.”
So this means Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still in development and lives on, and isn’t cancelled! We are expecting them to show something new and cool at Tokyo Game Show this year.
