Crystal Dynamics today announced its latest title in the Lara Croft series, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. The game will launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The game will be featuring four-play co-op where players must work together to explore the temple. Defeating enemies, solving puzzles, finding treasure and avoiding traps are the key points of the game.
“After the immensely positive reception we received for our debut co-op adventure Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, we always hoped that we would find the time for Lara to return in another classic AAA digital arcade title. We are excited to expand upon Guardian of Light’s legacy with an entirely new adventure, and challenged ourselves to create fun new ways to play. Four-player co-op in Lara’s world combined with Crystal Dynamics’ high production values are being brought to a new generation of platforms and we are excited for more friends to share in the adventure together.”
Darrell Gallagher, Head of Product Development and Studios.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris takes place deep in the deserts of Egypt. In her new adventure, Lara must join forces with rival treasure hunter Carter Bell and imprisoned gods Horus and Isis, to defeat the evil god Set. As Lara and her companions fight the elements of nature across the sands and through ancient tombs, they will battle legendary deities and creatures of myth. With the fate of the world at stake, Lara must recover the fragments of Osiris to stop Set from enslaving all mankind.
During Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference, Crystal Dynamics revealed the new rumored Tomb Raider game called “Rise of the Tomb Raider”. The game will be out in Holiday 2015. Watch the announcement trailer above.
(The song playing in the trailer is “The Car Chase” by James Horner, from “A Beautiful Mind” movie.)
In her first adventure, Lara Croft was forged into a true survivor, but she glimpsed a deeper, secret world. In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider.
“With the power of the new generation, and our proprietary Foundation engine, our high octane action moments will be even more epic. Multiple locations around the world will be filled with exploration spaces that are some of the most beautifully hostile places on earth and over three times larger than we could achieve before,” said Darrell Gallagher, Head of Product Development and Studios at Square Enix. “Our digital actors will rival CG quality, and after hearing the cry from our fans loud and clear, we will put the tombs back into Tomb Raider, all in our gritty survival-action style.”
Rise of the Tomb Raider builds upon the formula that made Tomb Raider a success, and features the return of Camilla Luddington as Lara Croft. Camilla will take character performance to new heights as Lara pushes herself beyond human limits and is confronted with what it means to become a hero. Once again, Crystal Dynamics is proud to have the award-winning author Rhianna Pratchett as a key member of the writing team, helping craft a story that delves into Lara’s inner turmoil and motivations in this critical second act of her journey.
It seems Square Enix has registered two new domains for new Tomb Raider titles called Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. For now, we can’t be sure are these titles new games, comics or something else. However, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris seems to have a bit similar naming to Tomb Raider spin-off “Guardian of Light” which was released on many platforms.
If these are new games waiting for an announcement, we will be likely hearing more about them at E3 2014. It’s also possible Square Enix is just registering these domains to save them for future plans.
A new Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call scan from Shonen Jump reveals that there will be new character joining in Curtain Call from various Final Fantasy games. Now, Noel from Final Fantasy XIII-2, Eiko from Final Fantasy IX, Fran from Final Fantasy XII and Jecht from Final Fantasy X are part of the Theatrhythm roster! It seems the new mode is called “Legacy Quests” and it works like Dark Notes mode in the previous Theatrhythm game but with maps. The maps have a series of levels which you can change with friends and complete by yourself. More information and confirmation coming soon.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will be released in Japan later this month. It’s a 3DS exclusive.
Thank you, Kazu, for the scan!

Described as not simply an up-scaled visual version of the successful reboot that came out last year, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition refines the full experience impressively through a thorough re-working of the visual presentation and optimization of the game’s technical performance.
A new face and head model was given to the lead protagonist Lara Croft, breathing a new life into her with her character fantastically sustained by her animation and remarkable voice work. Her character’s realistic impression has been amplified; her distressed reactions can be felt even stronger and technology such as subsurface scattering helps give her skin a more realistic glow.
Thorough attention has been payed at the rest of the world’s details, such as refining the textures of Lara’s equipment and injecting more life to the different elements of the environments. All this combined running on a smooth framerate on native 1080p delivers an authentic experience it’s aiming for, exclusive to next gen.
For this edition Crystal Dynamics has included all the multiplayer DLCs, the Dark Horse comic, and the complete artbook, all available in the game’s menu amongst other additions.
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will be available for the PS4 on January 28th this year.
That’s right, the original first Tomb Raider has been released to be played on iOS devices! Relive the classic experience of the very first released adventure of Lara Croft.
The game also includes content from its 1998 re-release, so you’re off with a nice and full package of nostalgia goodness.

Today, the CEO of Square Enix America and Europe, Phil Rogers revealed on his letter to fans that Square Enix is working on a new Tomb Raider game for the next-generation consoles. The new Tomb Raider game will be a sequel for the reboot of the series which was released earlier this year.
Darrell Gallagher, Head of Product Development and Studios, also shared a new message on new Tomb Raider game:
“Hi – you may have read today that a next-generation sequel to Tomb Raider is in the works. We’re very excited to confirm that the team has started working on telling the next chapter in Lara’s tale. It’s still early days, so I’m afraid I can’t provide any further details for now save my assurance that we’re not resting on our laurels and acclaim from Tomb Raider’s recent successes, but working hard to raise the bar even higher and re-affirm the faith you’ve shown.”
I’m very happy to present my fourth Square Portal trailer and this time it is about Tomb Raider. The game was just released worldwide. Developed by Crystal Dynamics, it has received a huge bunch of positive reviews as well. To celebrate this success, we thought to make this a new trailer “Life Is A Challenge!”
And oh boy, it sure is! While experiencing hard time in my real life I haven’t really had enough time to work on this site. Life is a challenge but it also gives us weapons to survive. To survive we have to fight, solve mysteries of the life and find and be guiding lights for ourselves. If you don’t survive, none of us will. We go through life together, and even if there seems to be no hope left, we can always become survivors.
I really hope you all have great time with Tomb Raider and other games. Can’t wait to hear more about Square Enix’s other games that are behing released this year!
