This week, the chief executive officier of Square Enix, Yoichi Wada, announced his resign from his position. Yosuke Matsuda is announced taking Yoichi’s place as the CEO and representative director.
Square Enix also revealed that their total financial loss are around 10 billion yen, which is 106.27 million U.S. dollars/83 million Euros. This is a loss for the fiscal year of April 1st 2012 to March 31st 2013, and the reason for them are the low sales of HD console titles of that. Such big titles as Hitman: Absolution, Hitman: HD Trilogy, Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider were release by that time. It’s still unsure which titles sold less than the company expected.

Financial loss? Why not remake Final Fantasy 6 to 9 and you’ll be rich again.
You won’t get rich in Japan with an FFVI remake, it’s not really popular there at all.
suuuuuure, because the CEO is who directs every final fantasy right? O_o
I hope the new CEO will bring back the spirit of Final Fantasy, not more pretty looking crud.
Oh look another elitist fanboy. Yawn.
Oh yeah – i read about that last week – intrigued to see what the first moves Matsuda will make in his new position :)
(i dont look much into this kind of thing but i have heard/read alot of views on Wadas resignation – 99% of people are glad hes going – saying ever since he was CEO – its just gone down hill from there for SE… but idk *shrugs*)
