For the first time ever the worlds of FINAL FANTASY and TOMB RAIDER unite with Lara Croft DLC for LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII.
Today Square Enix announced a very special Lara Croft downloadable content (DLC) set for LIGHTNING RETURNS™: FINAL FANTASY® XIII, available to download from launch (14th February 2014) via the in-game stores, PlayStation®Store and the Xbox Games Store.
The DLC, a wardrobe staple for any avid adventurer, will include Lara Croft’s unmistakable gear, as made famous in the TOMB RAIDER game released in 2013, and TOMB RAIDER: DEFINITIVE EDITION released earlier this year. In addition to the gear, players will also receive the exclusive Survivor’s Axe and Riot Shield to help them during battle.
LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII is released in Europe and PAL territories on 14th February 2014 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
A playable demo of the game for is now available for download on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

you know, Tomb Raider is indeed a great game,
but still Square enix europe, has to make up for A LOT.
we got no Collector’s edition, no ps3 controler, No ps3/xbox price giveaways etc etc.
this DLC won’t cut it.. if this is their way to cover all the exclusives we missed out on,, then they’re wrong!
And to even think about it that we in EU should pay for this DLC, is OUTRAGEOUS!
( i really won’t be suprised if NA get’s this DLC it too)
I heard that here in the US we had like 90,000 pre orders (it was some ones comment so I don’t know how true that is). That was about 3 mouths ago, so if it’s true there’s probably even more pre orders, my whole point /question is did Europe not get a CE because there wasn’t enough pre orders? (remember if we asked enough we’d get a CE). There was even a petition set up in the US SE site for a LR CE (lots of abbreviations sorry XD). I think it’s messed up that Europe didn’t get a collectors edition. =/
Many fans including me was saving their pre-orders for collector’s edition. I wonder if that really was the reason behind it… It still remains mystery for an eternity and it’s too late to get a collector’s edition.
Yeah I waited until I heard that there was a CE before I pre ordered. I guess there was a lot of people form US expecting game stop and other retailers to pop out with a CE that’s why they pre ordered so soon. How ever with them keeping us in the dark about a CE and being iffy about it, I waited, and a good thing I did they really pulled a fast one (and made a lot of fans question about their pre orders at other retailers =/ ).
@v3ronica7; I’m not really sure if that is the reason, because Square Enix NA did promote this collecto’s edition on their YouTube account after you could pre order this collector’s edition for months.
why would they promote it,,i think it’s Obvious fans want a CE.

Here in europe the collector’s edition for previous instalments (FF XIII and FF XIII-2 where sold out within weeks.
So my gues is that they really didn’t want to make a collector’s edition, because the normal edition wouldn’t sell properly
So Square Enix Europe decided not to make one.
because a few months after the release of FF XIII-2,the normal edition FF XIII where priced 10 up to 14,99 euro’s in Retail (game-stores).
Square Enix Europe probably wanted fans the appriciate the game itself more the the collecto’s edition, either that or they cared more for their sales.
I loved playing tomb raider so much, and this collaboration with LR is an awesome idea. Probably going to be the first DLC I buy for this game. Though this trailer kinda seemed comical for so reason, don’t ask why (maybe it was her pointing her weapon at Noel, and looking the way she did XD).
I love how they show her doing a lot of ‘Tomb Raider-ish’ stuff in this trailer. I guess it just goes to show that we’ll have to dress for the occasion. :)
