Square Enix is currently performing a maintenance for Final Fantasy XIV to prepare it for the next patch, titled as Before the Fall 2.56. The new update brings the power of the Echo to “the Final Coil of Bahamut” raid, increases pony whistle drop rate and fixes several issues.

Pony Farmers, Attention!

The drop rates for Extreme primal pony whitles have been increased and now it will be easier to acquire Aithon, Xanthos, Gullfaxi, Enbarr, Markab and Boreas mounts. When you have unlocked all ponies, you will be reward with Kirin after completing A Legend for a Legend quest.  The quest can be started by talking with Wandering Minstrel in Mor Dhona.

The Final Coil of Bahamut 

Players can now queue for the Final Coil of Bahamut solo via the Duty Finder or join in a group by checking the “Join in Progress” box when queuing. The Echo will take effect upon entering the Final Coil of Bahamut, increasing players’ maximum HP, damage dealt, and healing potency by 10%. Alongside this change, The Shadow of Meracydia will no longer appear when Bahamut casts Gigaflare a second time in the Final Coil of Bahamut – Turn 4.

Item level requirements for the Final Coil of Bahamut:

• Turn 1 – Average item level 110
• Turn 2 – Average item level 115
• Turn 3 – Average item level 120
• Turn 4 – Average item level 123

Other Resolved Issues

• An issue wherein audio clipping occurred when viewing the staff credits after the quest “Before the Dawn.
• An issue wherein Vishap stopped moving under certain conditions in the Steps of Faith.
• An issue wherein the incorrect log message displayed when acquiring the race ability Choco Dash.
• An issue wherein the incorrect achievement title was received for completing the quest “The Little Postmoogle that Could.”
