Square Enix has announced an anniversary update for Final Fantasy XV. It features a long awaited “Character Swap” feature, allowing you to swap between party members. That’s right! You can now choose to play as Prompto, Ignis or Gladiolus and let the AI control Noctis. Comrades Multiplayer Expansion will be receiving 1.10V update (stability fixes) a day before the release of Episode Ignis – coming on Dec 13, 2017. Anniversary Update will be available in December 2017.

Character Swap

Throughout the year, you have been able to control Prompto and Gladiolus in their respective DLCs, but not in the main game. This will be changing soon as Character Swap feature is being added to Final Fantasy XV.  You will be able to clear the game by using Prompto / Ignis / Gladiolus / Noctis as you wish. The only exception is when  characters leave the party due to story reasons. You can switch between characters repeatedly any time you want. The developers revealed they could not previously implement this feature as there were too many technical issues and the game would not run properly. However, after making necessary adjustments and system changes they were finally able to bring the demanded feature into the game.

Final Fantasy XV is now available for PS4 and Xbox One, with Windows Edition releasing for PC in Early 2018.
