If you have been following our news for a long time, you may have already heard that Square Enix produces “Play Arts Kai” figures for other companies such as Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Vanquish), Konami (Metal Gear Solid), Disney (Star Wars, Kingdom Hearts), EA (Mass Effect, Dead Space, Battlefield), DC Comics and Microsoft (Halo). The recent addition to their upcoming collection is Quiet from Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain. The figure is scheduled for release in May in Japan. The pre-orders for North America and Europe will be opening shortly and the release will happen around the same time. The pricing is set to 10.500 yens / 68 euros. The package contains weapons such as sniper rifle, knife and hand gun, changeable hands and an alternative head.

Quiet was a mute female sniper who was active during the 1980s. Eventually, she managed to save Big Boss, and effectively surrendered herself intoDiamond Dogs custody. Because of this, despite Kazuhira Miller’s insistence that they kill her due to her being too much of a liability due to discovering the location of Mother Base, Ocelot and Big Boss instead suggested that they lock her up, although Big Boss agreed that she might have to be killed if she proved to be too much of a threat to Diamond Dogs’ existence, adding that he would be the one to kill her. At some point, she was tortured by Ocelot and managed to take down three Diamond Dogs soldiers on Mother Base. -MGSWikia

    • Why? Would be nicer to see better arguments when you are suggesting something like this. If you are going to be negative/positive, at least I would be happy to see why you think that way.

The figure looks fairly decent and Square Enix has greatly improved the quality of their Play Arts Kai collection in just a few years. The attention to details is just mindblowing when we compare these to figures from 2009 and earlier. Even though Quiet shows lots of skin, they managed to avoid sharing her into too many pieces and making her look awkward. Her build also looks more solid than fragile, which is a good bonus. It’s not like that figure is a static Japanese anime character, which are way easier to create, but you can actually repose these figures and make them look more unique. This has always been a huge bonus for me.

When talking about Quiet as a character, she is really rad. Not much communication, special powers and over the top outfit you could only see on artists like Gaga or something. It doesn’t even make her look weak, even though for some people the outfit would be “overly sexualized”, but in my opinion that’s not the case, because she isn’t acting like a slut. Looking forward to learn more about her.

      • The way the joints look, looks bad, especially the knees. The chest doesn’t look right, it doesn’t naturally look like its attached to the body. Looks like how a child would draw them. The gap that separates the top portion of the body from the lower is a bit big (look at bra strap of last image), and the face looks off. But mostly my issue is the joints. They really look bad and distracting.
The joints on Tifa look far worse because of the pink shading they added to them. Gives it a look of infection or irritation.
        Better?
