You might be right about that and it might seem cliché out of context, but at least it’s perfectly justifiable. XIII-2 already defined the meaning of a setting where life and death are indistinguishable with Valhalla, and places where they can co-exist like Serendipity and the Coliseum. So, it should not come as any surprise that in a world where both the mortal and unseen realms are now one, the souls of the dead are given rise again. I would like to see Eidolons roaming freely as well ^_^
