The NPD Group has issued its March video game sales report, revealing Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster was the 8th most-selling game in the United States. It’s the same position Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII reached back in February. Other Square Enix published/developed games have been selling quite well in US: Thief positioned as 4th best-selling game and Bravely Default as 10th in February 2014.
The competition has been quite rough when big titles such as Titalfall, inFamous: Second Son, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Dark Souls II were released in March as well. It’s also worth noting software sales have dropped 28% in March, but hardware sales increased 78% due to better availability of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Overall, total industry sales increased 3 percent to $1.03 billion, which is a good sign of healthier game market.
