What the Kweh is Romancing SaGa?
Romancing SaGa was developed and published by Square (before merging with Enix) for the Super Famicom / SNES, in 1992. It was the fourth installment in the SaGa series. Later in 2005, Square Enix revealed and published the PlayStation 2 remake of the game, which was renamed as “Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song”. It was only available in Japan and North America. The original SNES version has been ported for smartphones and Wii. (Only in Japan)
The story events of the first Romancing SaGa were set in the fictional world of Mardias. It follow a story of eight heroes who started a journey across the world to prevent the resurrection of Saruin – an evil god from the ancient times. SaGa series is known for its modern and open design with the gameplay, story and world. For example, in Romancing Saga, players could experience the story events differently, as it was up to them, how they played through different story scenarios. Some of the events were only unlocked by completing certain tasks or talking to non-playable characters, which changed all players’ experiences slightly different.

Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- OST – Decisive Battle! Saruin -Final Battle with Saruin- sounds so freaking awesome, especially at 2.25-2.51. Hopefully the remastered OST is released on iTunes / other internet music store. I really want to listen to more!
Ugh! I really hope Square Enix would release a new SaGa game to celebrate the 25th anniversary! These games sound seriously awesome and it makes me rather sad we never got ’em in here Europe.
These samples from the PS2 remake sound very awesome! Gotta say I love the epic rock tunes the battle song has in it. Eternal Emotion reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy XIII music to be honest! Listening to more songs now, hah!
