DONTNOD Entertainment, the people behind Remember Me, teams up once again with Square Enix with the newly announced title Life Is Strange.
Life Is Strange is a compelling, episodic, story-driven adventure that follows the story of the senior student Max Caulfield as she returns to the fictional town of Arcadia Bay, Oregon after a 5-year absence. Reuniting with her former friend, Chloe, they both work in uncovering the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of their fellow student, Rachel Amber. Players will be able to determine the path of the story through offered choices. However, the course of history is alterable as well, as Max discovers at the beginning of the story her ability to rewind time.
“Everybody at DONTNOD is excited to be working on such a refreshing title” said Jean-Max Moris, Creative Director at DONTNOD Entertainment. “We’re not only crafting the best game we possibly can, we also feel we’re providing the type of experience that perfectly fits today’s renewed taste for originality and diversity”.
“When we first saw LIFE IS STRANGE we immediately realised that DONTNOD have created a unique experience, something special” said Jon Brooke, VP Brand and European Marketing Square Enix Europe. “Everyone who’s seen the game has instantly fallen in love with its distinctive style and mood”.
Life Is Strange will be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows PC as a digital title.

I liked Remember Me a lot. If was far from perfect but the art/music direction was great—and I value that a lot. So I’m really looking forward to that new game. Great art style already. Glad to see Square Portal is supporting Dontnod since we first heard about that new project!
Really cool to see Square Enix supporting new IPs during times like this, especially ones with female protagonists. I’m so excited to see how time traveling mechanics work and what kind of game this actually is. It’s seems a bit detective/puzzle like adventure to me… I wonder will it has these futuristic and semi-supernatural parts like Remember Me had.
The characters look great and interesting enough and I’m looking forward to see how their relationship evolves through the story. The first screenshot looks absolutely gorgeous by the way – is it an artwork or is generated with their engine? Mind-blowing.
