Final Fantasy XIII-2

Square Portal Radio: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Original Soundtrack

XIII-2_PromoPoster-Withoutwatermark2-1
Final Fantasy XIII-2 PC is out tomorrow. To celebrate the launch, we collected a list of our favorites tunes from the game’s much praised soundtrack. Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, the sequel had three composers: Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta and Mitsuto Suzuki. These three composers created a beautifully arranged and unique soundtrack combining both orchestral and electronic music elements, making it an unforgettable and emotional musical experience for the fans.

Unlike many other Final Fantasy soundtracks, Final Fantasy XIII-2 relied on many vocal tracks, a multitude of different genres, very experimental tunes and changing in-game music when the enemies appeared in the map.”It was just one more great addition to the Final Fantasy XIII saga, that already served as an industrial standard for how high quality game soundtracks could and should be. These are our favorite tunes from the game; we hope you enjoy them too!

  1. I’ve always loved the soundtrack on this game. I feel it’s under-appreciated merely because people don’t enjoy the game itself. I’m hoping they come out with an official piano soundtrack for this game in the future :)!

  2. “World Without a Goddess” always gave me the chills. And it made me even more sad about the ending, seeing… all that chaos…. with that song. Then the bell chiming, and seeing the Throne of the Goddess with her Knight seated there. Gosh, a gaming memory that’s hard to forget. Along with Lightning Returns moments like getting palpitations during the scenes between Snow and Lightning, and shedding tears during the ending.
