  1. About “Game of the Year” Nominees:

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn was first launched in Fall 2013, but we decided to nominate it this year as well. Reasoning behind this decision is the fact the game has received tons of new content through the year: Dream of Ice, Through the Maelstorm, Defenders of Eorzea. These patches alone are worth a new game, we dare to say. As a MMO game its nature is very different compared to other nominees. This makes it possible for us to nominate it in 2014. The game was also launched on PlayStaton 4 and it could be counted as a “Definitive Edition” release, but we chose this route.
