Final Fantasy XIV: Before the Fall Part 1 will be releasing on 20th January, 2015. This was revealed by the Final Fantasy XIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida who was as a special quest at Dragon Quest X event airing on Nico Nico.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 2.5 is title “Before the Fall” and will be split into two parts. It contains “The World of Darkness”, which the final stage of the Crystal Tower and the Mandervlle Gold Saucer where players can play various mini games such as Chocobo Racing. Alongside a new raid and a theme park, new dungeons will be added: The Keeper of the Lake, The Wanderer’s Palace (Hard) and Amdapor Keep (Hard). Final Fantasy XIV will also get a DirectX 11 update which improves shadows, reflection and other textures.
