The Beginning of the End

Final Fantasy XV is now officially available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One worldwide – marking the 15th mainline entry in the Final Fantasy series that’s celebrating its 30th anniversary next year. Now the long-time fans, who were first introduced to Noctis back in 2006, are finally able to unravel his destiny and learn the truth. From experience, we know that this is the start of an emotional journey that’s both the beginning and the end of the journey. It also brings the Fabula Nova Crystallis series to the end with all three original games being available now.

Hajima Tabata, Final Fantasy XV Director stated following:

“Final Fantasy has a special place in the hearts of many and the team who worked long and hard on this project couldn’t be prouder to present Final Fantasy XV to fans around the world. Today, we invite not only longtime fans but a new generation of gamers to a series beloved thanks to the engaging storytelling, unique characters and captivating worlds that have become the hallmark of Final Fantasy XV over the years.”

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV

The fifteenth journey in the Final Fantasy series began as Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV was released earlier this Fall worldwide. We highly recommend watching this movie before starting Final Fantasy XV as it is the prologue for the entire saga.

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the hallowed Crystal, but the menacing empire of Niflheim will stop at nothing to make it theirs. War has raged between the two for as long as most can remember. King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers dubbed the Kingsglaive.  Wielding their king’s magic, the main protagonist Nyx Ulric and his fellow glaives stand before the crown city of Insomnia, fighting to stay the inexorable advance of Niflheim’s imperial army. Before the overwhelming military might of the empire, King Regis can only salvage his kingdom by accepting an ultimatum—he must cede all lands outside the crown city, and see his son, Prince Noctis, wed to Lady Lunafreya, the former princess of Tenebrae now captive of Niflheim. As the war of wills rages, the machinations of Niflheim transform Insomnia into an awe-inspiring battleground, pulling Nyx into a struggle for the very survival of the kingdom.

Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix has also released all episode of Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV anime! The series delves into friendships between Noctis, Prompto, Gladiolus and Ignis and provides the backdrop to the adventure players will set out upon the release of Final Fantasy XV.

The second episode reveals an unexpected background story of Prompto and how the friendship between him and Noctis started when they were young.

The third episode tells a story about the Amicitia family that has long served as the shield protecting the kings of Lucis and their household. Gladiolus is its eldest son and it’s his duty to protect Noctis, the Crown Prince but the bond they share transcends that of a bodyguard and his liege. However, their friendship was originally off to a rocky start and it was thanks in part to Gladiolus’ Iris sister that the two of them become close friends.

The fourth episode focuses on Ignis. As the prince’s aide, he has cared for Noctis every day since they were in their youth. Noctis can’t hide his annoyance as Ignis preaches what is expected of the future king. But the two are tied by a certain “sweet” – and Ignis is secretly struggling to recreate it.

The final episode details the events that set the stage for young Noctis, his family and his friends, alongside an epic battle that Noctis takes on ten years later against the massive snake-like monster, Marilith.
