Villain Version of “Knights of the Round” Keyart Released for Dissidia Final Fantasy

Are you ready? It’s just a bit over two months until you will be able to get your hands on Dissidia Final Fantasy NT! Square Enix has shared new images from the upcoming battle royal, featuring alternative villain edition of “Knights of the Round” keyart – available in 4K resolution. This time we are also getting screenshots from the story scenario, written by Kazushige Nojima.
In the latest trailer for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, Square Enix revealed that Promised Place from Final Fantasy VIII will be added as a stage in the game. In the original release, Squall gets lost in time-space nothingness but with help of Rinoa, he will be able to return to home. The stage represents this very moment in the story and you can see the wasteland blooming into a flowery field as the battle goes on.

The development team estimates that the game will have over 50 characters in total once all patches are out and done.
The story is set long after the events of first Dissidia games and this time the characters retain their memories. As the conflict between the Goddess of Protection and the God of Destruction deepens, Materia and Spiritus summon the cast from past Final Fantasy games to act as their champions. The story scenario won’t have a separate mode and it will progress as you complete fights in standard modes.
The third instalment in Dissidia series will be features new gameplay elements such as a 3 vs. 3 battle system where up to six players can fight against each other at the same time. During fights when your character gets damaged, the appearance will also change. The EX system features two types of skills: there are shared skills that every character can use, abilities such as Protect or Bio and a signature EX skills that are specific to each character – like in the earlier entries in the series. The eidolons are summoned by the player, they will be joining in the fight and deal massive damage. Which one will you chooose? Ifrit, Shiva, Ramuh, Odin, Bahamut, Alexander or Leviathan?
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is scheduled for release on January 28, 2018. It’s a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
